How to Assign a Static Page as the Front Page in WordPress:  You can use your website’s front page as a static page, which can include a link to an internal blog page, with WordPress. A static page or portal is a page that contains snippets from other sections of your site, with links to those sections.

You need to tell WordPress that you want a static page you created to serve as the front page of your site.

So let’s discuss how you do this:

1. You must be in the admin area of your WordPress, from the Dashboard, choose Settings > Reading. The Reading Settings page will appear.
2. Select the A Static Radio Button in the Front Page Display Section. You need to tell WordPress that you want a static page that you have created serve as the front page of your blog.
3. Then from the Front Page drop down menu list, choose the static page that you want to show as your front page. For instance say you want to choose to display the Welcome to My Web Site Page. You do not have to worry about the rest of the options on the Reading Settings page, because they do not pertain to configuring which page to use for the front page of your site.
4. WordPress will display the page you selected as the front page of your blog so go ahead and click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

When blogging regulary you can change the front page of your blog. So if there is something that you want to show as your front page for a period of time this is a great way of doing it. I hope this article will help you with your blogging!
