Tips for Setting Routines
September 6, 2012 in At Work
If you’re looking to simplify your day and optimise your productivity you might find getting into daily, weekly and monthly habits and routines is the simple answer to your problems.
People who get into routines, both at home and at work, tend to be less stressed, more organised and often feel more in control of their day-to-day activities as they’re more able to say no to co-workers trying to ease their own workloads.
Routines also help people uncomplicated their lives as they’re able to group similar tasks together and allocate them a specific time, e.g. a weekly trip to go to the post office, grocery shopping and to get those new shoes/dress/perfume, or sending emails, doing reports and reviewing goals first thing every morning.
By sticking to a routine you eliminate many of the distractions (like co-workers popping in for you to JUST do this or JUST do that…or Facebook posts you just HAVE to comment on) that plague other people’s lives, allowing you to focus on what needs doing.
